The company produced Martin and Gibson style replicas in the 70s and 80s and was known for their exceptional quality while offering great value for money. Morris, as one of the leading Japanese guitar makers at the time, was founded in Nagoya in the late 1960s by Toshio Moridaira, a Japanese guitar distributor who had close ties with Gibson and Fender. Truly, some replicas were in no way inferior to their originals, so that the US companies had no choice but to take legal action against them. It was the time when Japanese guitar making was experiencing a veritable golden age, and the high Japanese standards in instrument craftsmanship were achieving world renown. It's a Guild F-50 lean-to by Morris from 1980, a time when faithful replication from the American originals was just beginning to be admonished ("post lawsuit era").

Yamada vintage jumbo acoustic guitar and detailed post lawsuit era imitation of a Guild F-50 with nicely opened-up spruce top, impressive grained East Indian rosewood body, veneered headstock with Guild style mother of pearl logo inlays and professionally upgraded Shadow Sonic doubleplay pickup system in classic natural high gloss finish in excellent condition including a deluxe hardshell case. I am offering here an incredible 1980 Morris WG-45, a handcrafted and handsigned by luthier legend G.
